Church Cookout, Today: Our first church social event of the summer is today. After services there will be hamburgers and hot dogs, buns, condiments, lots of side dishes, plus beverages and desserts. Everyone is welcome, so please plan on staying for food and fellowship.

YMCLC: Young Men’s Christian Leadership Club will meet in the conference room on Sunday, June 7, at 8:30 a.m. Our final club meeting of the year will take place on June 14.

Feast at Snowshoe, West Virginia: There is some additional information concerning the Snowshoe Feast site available on the Feast Web site at http://feast.ucg.org/snowshoe/. There is a copy of the material on the information table.

Feast Housing Reservations: All Church members can begin making Festival housing reservations on Sunday, June 7, starting at 10 a.m. in the time zone of the Feast site they plan to attend.

Festival Assistance: Widows and those without tithable income who may need assistance in going to the Feast of Tabernacles, please see your Festival adviser (Dan Preston for the A.M. congregation; Mike Phelps for the P.M. congregation) for the necessary forms.

Festival Update: For the latest status of Feast sites around the world or to see what sites are still available for transfer, members can always go to http://feast.ucg.org. Currently, Panama City Beach, Florida; Snowshoe, West Virginia; and Steamboat Springs, Colorado, are closed to further transfer requests.

Dayton Golf Tournament: The Dayton congregation would like to invite all who would be interested in joining us for our second annual golf outing, to take place on Sunday, June 7. The price is $50 per person and $200 for a team. The play is a four-man best ball scramble. There will be various prizes given out for longest drive, closest to the pin and the winning teams. Please see our Web site (www.ucgdayton.org) for any additional details. If interested, please contact Jonathan Stoner by e-mail at jstoner@ucgdayton.org or by phone at (513) 988-8007. Please let him know as soon as you can, as we are quickly coming up on the date. We had a lot of fun last year, and we look to build on it this year.

ABC Continuing Education Seminar: Due to overwhelming response to the announcement of the five-day ABC Continuing Education Seminar at the home office from June 8 to 12, we have reached capacity. The seminar is closed to further reservations.

Annual Picnic at the Phelps, July 4: On Sabbath, July 4 there will be a church picnic following afternoon services at the home of Floyd and Doris Phelps. We will plan to begin eating about 6 p.m.  Further information will be forthcoming.

Preteen Camp Buckeye: It’s time once again for the Great Lakes Region Youth Camp for children aged 6 through 12. Beginning on Sunday, July 26, and finishing up on Wednesday evening, July 29, camp promises to be great fun for all who attend. Our location will again be Camp Buckeye near Strausburg, Ohio.
Activities will include swimming, fishing, archery, arts and crafts, Bible games, field games, a waterfall hike, campfires, music, games and more! You won’t want to miss out! Be sure to download your application packet today—it contains all the information you need to know about camp. Deadline for application is June 15, 2009.
We would also like to remind the teens and adults that we can’t run camp without your volunteer service. Staff application packets are also available to download. Staff positions are limited, so be sure to get your application in early!
Note: All applications can be downloaded from http://www.ucgakron.org; if you do not have access to an Internet connection, please call Dave Myers at (330) 686-5881, and he will mail you an application packet.

Ocoee White-Water Rafting Trip: The Chattanooga congregation will be hosting the annual Ocoee white-water rafting trip on Sunday, Aug. 2, at 10 a.m. As in prior years, the Church will be utilizing the services of Ocoee Inn Rafting as outfitters for the trip. Participants must be at least 12 years old (Tennessee law) and in good health. Those with bad backs or other similar injuries should not participate due to the strenuous and jarring nature of the activity. Due to the inherent risky activity, all participants must sign a liability waiver. Those under 18 will need a parent or legal guardian’s signature before they can participate. We have reserved a block of rafting spots. In order to guarantee that you have a seat, please send a signed liability waiver and a check payable to the United Church of God, Cleveland for $26 per person by July 15 to the address below:
Allen Dance
9201 Cobblestone Hill Dr.
Ooltewah, TN 37363
Please clearly identify each participant, church area and a phone number where you can be contacted. We must have your deposit to reserve you a spot. It is on a first-come, first-served basis, so send it in as soon as possible. This activity takes place regardless of the weather. If you have any questions, please contact Allen Dance at (423) 855-0868 or e-mail him at allendance@hotmail.com.
Camping and cabin facilities are available in the area. The Church does not sponsor a group campsite, but individual families are welcome to take advantage of the opportunities to camp at their own risk if they so desire. The Chilhowee Recreation Area of the Cherokee National Forest is a 20-minute drive from the outfitters. Campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis and generally fill up on the weekends, so early arrival is advised. As in past years, there will be a camp Bible study on the Sabbath in the Chilhowee Recreation Area.
